ABC Stores Opening Sundays Starting July 1
Law allows ABC stores to open Sundays across Virginia where local ordinances do not prohibit it
ABC stores in Virginia will be allowed to stay open from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sundays starting July 1.
The Virginia General Assembly this past session approved a law that allowed the remaining 206 ABC stores that hadn't already been allowed to open Sundays to do so, starting on July 1.
The only stores that won't be able to open are those in localities that have local ordinances prohibiting Sunday sales of alcohol. Fairfax County does not prohibit it.
ABC stores also occasionally host tasting events in the Northern Virginia area. The full list of events can be found on the VABC website.
Correction: Due to an editing error, a previous version of this story incorrectly implied that the ABC store in Centreville was not already open on Sundays.

Sorry, Patty. That was due to a mistake on the editing end, not the reporter. My apologies.
