A large number of nominations for this year's Cappies awards went to Westfield High School students.
The Cappies critics and awards program is a program that trains high school students at theatre critics, then publishes their reviews in the news media. The student critics then vote for awards. The winners are announced at a gala in June.

The nominees at Westfield include the critic team, Julian Sanchez for rising critic and supporting actor in a musical and Joseph Biagini for graduating critic.
Other nominations from the school's production of Crazy for You include:

- Sound: Dieter Stach and Ariana Willis
- Lighting: Ben Nelms, Robert Palack and Elizabeth Ross
- Rising critic: Julian Sanchez

- Sets: sets crew
- Props: Sophia Alam, Sarah Dickenson, Nate Schrader
- Orchestra: pit orchestra
- Choreography and lead actor in a musical: Colby Dezelick
- Ensemble in a musical: follie dancers and cowboys
- Featured actress: Sarah Schweit
- Featured actor: Mitchell Buckley
- Female dancer: Corinne Holland
- Comic actress in a musical: Madeleine Bloxam
- Song: Slap that Bass
- Musical: Crazy for You
Westfield also had a strong presence at the Cappies gala last year, taking home 10 awards.
