Centreville Residents Nominated for Volunteer Service Awards

Volunteers will be honored at awards ceremony in April.

 

Volunteer Fairfax and the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will honor the following volunteers—all of whom are Centreville residents—at the 19th annual Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards, Thursday, April 14, in Springfield, Va.

  • Aiden Levy volunteered at Caring Kids Cards, and is nominated for the Youth Benchmark 100 award.
  • Alicia Long volunteered at Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Program, and is nominated for the Adult Volunteer 250 and Under award.
  • Andrew Levy volunteered at Caring Kids Cards, and is nominated for the Benchmark 500 award.
  • Christina Knott volunteered at Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Program, and is nominated for the Rising Star award.
  • Delores Buckley volunteered at Cub Run RECenter, and is nominated for the Adult Volunteer 250 and Under award.
  • Denise McInerney volunteered at Our Neighbor's Child, and is nominated for the Benchmark 250 award.
  • Gabrielle Levy volunteered at Caring Kids Cards, and is nominated for the Youth Benchmark 100 award. 
  • Jennifer Campbell volunteered at Westfield High PTSA, and is nominated for the Benchmark 500 award.
  • Jessica Woolson volunteered at Shelter House, and is nominated for the Youth Volunteer and Youth Benchmark 100 awards.
  • Karen Moore volunteered at Our Neighbor's Child, and is nominated for the Benchmark 250 award.
  • Ken Kurz volunteered at Northern Virginia Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program & Volunteer Solutions, and is nominated for the County Volunteer award.
  • Nicole Rogers volunteered at Our Neighbor's Child, and is nominated for the Benchmark 250 award. 
  • Robert (Skip) Dutrow volunteered at Cub Run RECenter, and is nominated for the Benchmark 250 award. 
  • Toora Arsala volunteered at Organizing for America (OFA), Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Celebrate Fairfax, and his local library, and is nominated for the Adult Volunteer 250 and Over and Benchmark 500 awards.

“The Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards provide an opportunity to recognize those that are bridging the gap between communities and societies through volunteering," said Jeanne Sanders, executive director of Volunteer Fairfax. "These outstanding members of our local community are truly Agents of Change, Ambassadors of Giving and are ultimately making an impact that extends Fairfax County."

This is like a dream come true, and i also wanted to add i volunteered alot for the connolly campaign, and i also now volunteer for Reston Interfaith, i thank all of my friends for supporting me because even with aspergers syndrome i never give up and to be nominated for a huge award like this its like a dream come true, i thank volunteer fairfax for doing this ceremony, and even if i dont win i am staying positive and i plan on starting a disabilities outreach program someday, anyways ty so much this is like a dream come true, Volunteering is a Strong Passion of Mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!
