For an easy way to help neighbors in need, just walk to the mailbox.
On Saturday, May 12, letter carriers from the United States Postal Service (USPS) will collect food donations for local food pantries as part of the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Donations from the Centreville area will go to Western Fairfax Christian Ministries. Bags of non-perishable food may be left next to the mail box on Saturday.
Stamp Out Hunger is sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers. It is the nation's largest single-day food drive, with over 210,000 letter carriers participating.
Some of the possible items for donation include canned soup, canned meat and fish or boxes of pasta. For more information, visit www.helpstampouthunger.com, or click here to read more about Western Fairfax Christian Ministries.
