Key to Awesomeness: Drama runs in the Watkinson family; Cassidy, Connor and Caitlyn had each had experience performing on stage before auditioning for the City of Fairfax Theatre Company’s summer show. All three Watkinsons had just performed in the Northern Virginia Players’ production of Once Upon a Mattress and so were well prepared for The Sound of Music auditions in May.

The Watkinson children have always been taught at home, which meant that they had the opportunity to engage in music lessons together at an early age. Cassidy and Caitlyn are both performing members of the Ballet Arts Ensemble of Fairfax and naturally progressed to musical theatre. Cassidy in particular loves Broadway productions and has performed in The Alliance Theatre’s Willy Wonka, Summer Stage’s 42nd Street, and ’s . Carrying on the family’s musical tradition, the two younger Watkinsons both play the guitar and Connor also performs in a youth band.
