Photos: Patriot Day Memorial Ceremony
The community gathered to honor police, fire and rescue workers who died during the terrorist attacks on 9/11.
The Sully Station II Neighborhood Watch and The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (Virginia Society, Fairfax Resolves Chapter) honored the police officers and fire & rescue workers who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, on Sept. 11th at Stadium.
ABC7/WJLA-TV journalist Gail Pennybacker hosted the event. The National Anthem and America the Beautiful were sung by the Department of Public Safety Communications, Sherrie White. During the songs, 50 white doves were released to honor all that died on 9/11.

Guest speakers included Congressman Gerry Connolly (Virginia 11th District), Chief of Police Colonel David Rohrer, Director Steven Souder (Fairfax County Public Safety Communications) and Deputy Fire Chief Charles Ryan (Fairfax County Fire & Rescue).
There were 400 flags, donated by (Sully Station), surrounding the football field for each of the police, fire & rescue workers who died on 9/11.
