Rock Out This Summer at Friday Night Live!

Last Friday, May 6, marked the of the seventeenth season of Friday Night Live! (FNL), arguably among the most popular outdoor concert series in the Washington, DC area.  

Held weekly during the late spring and summer on the in Herndon, Friday Night Live! features a great selection of local and east coast bands. Though most acts are classic and modern rock cover bands, FNL also hosts groups that play funk, reggae, and original music.  

Friday Night Live! has welcomed over 230,000 fans in its first 16 years and is expected to usher in thousands of patrons from throughout Northern Virginia this summer. The concert series, run completely by volunteers, also boasts a wide selection of food from local vendors, including The Tortilla Factory Restaurant, O’Sullivan’s Irish Pub, JJ Deli, Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern, Domino’s Pizza, and Dairy Queen.  

The Volkswagen Group of America is Friday Night Live!’s proud title sponsor, but FNL is also supported by a number of local businesses. In turn, FNL gives back to the community by submitting donations to Herndon area schools and organizations. Last year, Friday Night Live! donated $5,000 in tip money to for its All Night Graduation and After Prom events. To date, FNL has also contributed over $200,000 in cash to community organizations.  

All Friday Night Live! events are free and open to the public. Performances begin at 6:30 p.m. and usually end around 10:30 p.m.
