Police Looking for Serial Flashers

Detectives believe more than one man has targeted females in the area.

Fairfax County Police said Tuesday that one or more male flashers have targeted females—including young children—in the area near . 

The men have exposed themselves to women between ages 3 and 50 years old walking on the paths , police said. Detectives believe there is more than one man involved, each acting individually.

Police provided a broad description of the suspects, saying the flashers are possibly white, with a light to medium complexion. The suspects are usually in a secluded area of the trails and sometimes cover their faces. They may be between 20 and 60 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall and 150 to 200 pounds.

Police said the incidents took place on:

  • Tuesday, March 1, 2011, near Cub Stream Drive around 3:30 p.m. 
  • around 3:52 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 5, 2011, near Weatherburn Drive around 1:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, July 16, 2011, near Deer Pond Court around 12:15 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 27, 2011, near Stone Crossing Court around 3:30 p.m.
  • Monday, September 5, 2011, in Cub Run Stream Valley Park around 9:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, November 19, 2011, in Cub Run Stream Valley Park around 11:48 a.m.
  • Saturday, January 7, 2012, near Cub Stream Drive around 10:50 a.m.
  • around 1:30 p.m.

    Anyone who encounters the flashers on the trail should call 911 as soon as possible. Anyone who has information may call Crime Solvers at 866-411-8477 (TIPS), e-mail tips by visiting www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or text “TIP187” plus a message to CRIMES(274637). A reward between $100 and $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
