The Northeast will be digging out of the snow from Winter Storm Hercules for some time, but the area of Fredericksburg, Northern Virginia and D.C. got just enough to make roads treacherous during the morning commute, along with a very cold snow day to cap off the winter break for many area students.
Residents stuck at home got out into the snow and shared pictures on Facebook and Twitter. In Arlington, more than 500 struggled through a bitter cold morning without power, while a four-car crash on the Fairfax County Parkway sent three people to the hospital.
