Heat Advisory in Effect Monday and Tuesday

Heat index will reach 100-105 Tuesday.

A heat advisory is in effect for Fairfax County from noon Monday to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Temperatures will be high in the lower to mid 90s today and tomorrow; however, between the heat and the humidity, temperatures will feel much higher. The heat index, or perceived temperature, will be in the upper 90s on Monday and between 100 to 105 Tuesday.

A heat advisory means that a period of excessive heat is expected. The combination of temperatures in the mid to upper 90s will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
