Overnight Snow Could Cause A.M. Rush Hour Delays

Winter weather advisory issued for Fairfax County and D.C. metro area.

Updated: FCPS have a two-hour delay this morning. 

Expect early morning rush hour delays on I-66 and other local roads Tuesday morning as a result of the snow and sleet that will arrive late Monday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Centreville and the entire D.C. region which is in effect from 9 p.m. tonight until 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. Two to five inches of snow should hit the area, beginning with a wintry mix late tonight. After midnight the snow will arrive in full force; temperatures will drop to the upper 20s by morning.

Gusts of wind up to 20 miles per hour may also hit the area. On the bright side, Wednesday should be a bit warmer, with a light wind and temperatures in the mid-4os.
