Public Meeting on Northern Virginia's Transportation Future is Tonight

The meeting is at VDOT's district office in Fairfax at 6 p.m.

Learn more about the transportation projects funded by the state's Six-Year-Improvement Program tonight at the Commonwealth Transportation Board's public meeting at the Virginia Department of Transportation's Northern Virginia District Office in Fairfax. 

The meeting is mainly for residents to learn more about the transportation projects that are funded by the current Six-Year Improvement Program for fiscal years 2015-2020.

Projects in the program include interstate, road, rail, bicycle, pedestrian and public transportation initiatives with special emphasizes on those that improve safety and address congestion issues.  

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. with open house displays and discussions followed by a public commenting period at 7 p.m.

Representatives from VDOT, the Commonwealth Transportation Board, the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT), metropolitan planning organizations and planning district commissions will all be at the meeting to discuss their respective projects and programs.

The VDOT district office is at 4975 Alliance Drive in Fairfax.
