WEATHER ALERT: Fairfax County and Metro Washington, DC

Snow is very likely for Tuesday, forecasters say.

A winter storm watch is in effect for Fairfax County and all of metro Washington, DC, beginning Tuesday morning and extending into the evening, according to National Weather Service reports.

Some computer weather models predict up to 5 inches of snow for the area with temperatures dipping into the teens and winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour and gusts up to 25 miles per hour.

Blowing snow could reduce visibility, making driving conditions challenging for motorists.

The forecasted high for the area Tuesday is 28 degrees with a low of 11 degrees.
