Weird News: Ill-Mannered Guests and a Pitbull on the Run

Plus, no-show cicadas and a really mad Starbucks customer.

'Hostile' Partier Arrested for Punching Georgetown Homeowner - Think you have had some bad party guests?

Three partiers overstayed their welcome in East Georgetown Friday night into Saturday morning, leading to at least one arrest, according to a report shared with the Georgetown neighborhood block captains. 

Residents of a home in East Georgetown report that at about 4:15 a.m. Saturday an unknown man and a woman made a knocking noise at the front of their home and shortly thereafter the same man and another woman stood out front repeatedly ringing the doorbell. The homeowner's email said all three were dressed like they had been socializing and were intoxicated.

The residents report that they opened their door and tried to engage with the couple to have them leave the property. After some chiding, the man reportedly became angry and aggressive. 

Chopper Chases Kingstowne Canine - Fairfax County Animal Control apprehended a pitbull dog around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday after the dog became aggressive toward an officer in the Windermere neighborhood in Kingstowne.  When police responded to the residence, the dog became aggressive. An officer deployed his Taser, and the pitbull ran out into the neighborhood. With the use of a police helicopter, officers and Animal Control were able to apprehend the dog.

“So far, Brood II sightings of the 17-year periodical cicada have been mostly south of Washington, with a few scattered reports to the north,” The Capital Weather Gang reported recently.

If you’re interested in seeing them, you have a few more weeks still to drive down I-95 South into Lake Ridge, Woodbridge and west toward Manassas. There are some near Centreville, or you could venture into St. Mary’s and Calvert counties in Maryland.

More foam on my latte! -Perhaps the coffee just wasn't strong enough?

The Fairfax City Starbucks at 10344 Main St. was the scene of an incident involving police last week.

Starbucks employees called Fairfax City Police at 9:52 a.m. on June 2 when a 25-year-old man - who had previously been ordered to leave after trespassing earlier - returned to the coffee shop and was harassing customers and cursing at them, according to police.
