First Annual Chantilly Day Festival

The festival will feature a parade along Metrotech Drive, a "Taste of Chantilly" restaurant celebration, a children's fair, onstage performances, car show, business expo, awards ceremony, and much more.

The day will kick off with a parade led by the Chantilly and Westfield High School marching bands, followed by a variety of entertainment and awards at the main stage.

The festival parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. and is open to all community groups who wish to participate. Main festival activities will occur between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the parking lots near Babies R Us and K-Mart, followed by a free concert from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. featuring local band, The Merchants of Cool.

Festival visitors are encouraged to attend the free, family friendly concert at the end of the day and enjoy a variety of music that will have audience members of all ages dancing.

The Merchants of Cool were brought together in 2001 by a love of 60's, 70's and 80's guitar rock bands such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Tom Petty and have opened for many notable acts, including the Charlie Daniels Band, Almann Brothers, 38 Special, The Alarm, Def Leppard and the Smithereens.

The group has also played some of the top events and venues in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore area such as the Power Plant Live, Hard Rock Live, Nissan Pavilion, State Theatre, National Zoo, Army 10 Miler Race and Celebrate Fairfax.
