Local Blockbuster Store Closing

A video/DVD store has been located in The Colonnade since the 1980s.

The Blockbuster store in The Colonnade at Union Mill is closing on Feb. 19th.

The store is advertising a "moving sale," in which all used DVDs are selling for $9.99 or less. A video/DVD store has been located in that location since the 1980's, store staff said. Erol's, the previous video rental business at that site, was sold to Blockbuster Video in the 80s (for a blast from the past, watch this commercial for Erol's on YouTube).

The Manassas location is also closing in February. Those who still want to check out DVDs can check them out from Redbox, which has several locations nearby: at the , Centreville Square and The Colonnade, and at .

We rent movies from Cox OnDemand. I can't even remember the last time I went into a video store.

I have a gift card for them that I have had for 2 years.... I never even noticed that store any time I went to that shopping center!

This is unbelievable; I love this place and the people are so friendly. I hate Redbox and dropped Netflix when they raised their rates. I won't be driving 10 miles to rent in Manassas either. I guess I won't be renting period.

The Blockbuster in Manassas is closing too, so I updated this article. I also added in an additional location to find Redbox in the area.
