Sing-Off to Benefit FCPS

The second annual karaoke fundraiser tickets are on sale now.

The Fairfax Chamber and the Education Foundation will hold its second annual “Char-a-oke” Fundraiser Aug. 23.

The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce and Fairfax County Public Schools have teamed up to host a charity karaoke fundraiser. It will be held Thursday, Aug. 23 at the Barns at Wolf Trap, located at 1635 Trap Road, Vienna.

According to the chamber Web site, this fundraiser is a good team-building exercise for employees of local businesses. If employees do not want to sign, businesses can also sponsor other people to sing. The fundraiser is also considered a good place to network, with over 300 members of local businesses and various public officials attending last year.

Tickets to attend the fundraiser can be purchased online for $50 for a single ticket or $75 for a couple until Aug. 10. Ruth’s Chris Steak House will be catering. Tickets only include admission to the event and do not offer the opportunity to perform karaoke.

For those who want to perform, there are different sponsorship levels. The "solo" participation level is $250 and permits only one person to perform. The "duet" participation level is $500. There are two other levels of sponsorship and the highest level, the "Signature Co-Sponsor," is $10,000. This sponsorship includes the chance for a corporate team to perform, the company’s logo in various locations during the festival and 20 tickets to the event.
