Crime Report: Man Arrested for Assault
A roundup of some recent incidents in the area.
The following information was provided by the Fairfax County Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Assault: Police arrested a man who allegedly assaulted an acquaintance, a 47-year-old woman, during an altercation in the 14300 block of Climbing Rose Way just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13. Details were sparse, but James Barfield, 38, of Climbing Rose Way, Centreville, was taken to jail and charged with abduction and assault.
Robbery: A man on a bike robbed and stabbed a woman on Monday, Sept. 19, on Lee Jackson Memorial Highway. For more details, .

Burglary: A home in the 13600 block of Black Spruce Way was burglarized around 9:51 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21. An investigation determined entry was forced through a door and nothing appeared to be missing.
Drugs, alcohol and guns: Christopher Daniel Smith, 18, of Crim Station Rd., Centreville, was charged on Sept. 19th with a first offense possesion of marijuana, possesion and use of a sawed-off gun, removing the serial numbers from a firearm, malicious shooting or throwing a missile at an occupied building, and the purchase or possesion of alcohol by a person under age 21.

- Antonia Ford Court: License plate stolen from vehicle
- Betsy Ross Lane: Gold rings stolen from business
- Kincaid Court: Mail stolen from residence
- Lee Highway: Metal stolen from business
- Oakmere Drive: Diamond earrings stolen from residence
- Prince Way: Lawnmower, humidifier and vacuum cleaner stolen from residence
- Stonecroft Boulevard: Tools stolen from vehicle
Of note outside the Sully District, in the Greenbriar area, police are investigating a burglary and assault that occurred Monday, Sept. 19.
Around 9:30 a.m. a 29-year-old woman was entering her residence in the 13200 block of Leafcrest Lane when a teen approached from behind and forced his way into the residence with her. The suspect displayed a weapon and sexually assaulted the victim. The victim screamed and the suspect fled on foot. The victim was not injured.
The suspect was described as black, 15 to 16, around 5 feet 7 inches tall, thin and wearing a shirt and blue jeans. A sketch is attached to this article.
