January can be pretty dull. The holidays are over and the parties are past. What’s a person to do?
Have you considered taking an art class? I’ve recently gotten to know a talented artist and business owner located in Centreville. Fran Rauch’s art studio, FR Designs is located 5673 B Stone Rd. and is a joy to behold. It’s filled to the brim with different style art pieces as well as huge murals. I personally love to check out the variety faux finished wall samples to enhance focal point areas of you home that create the “wow” factor in your decor. There are so many choices!
Now, anyone who knows me would say that I have no artistic ability at all. They would be correct as I can’t even draw a stick figure. That being said I love to look at art. I love to go to museums, galleries and studios. I love to help my clients with decorating ideas for their new homes. That’s why I spend tons of time checking out the various faux finish samples on FR Designs studio walls.
Fran has been in business for 17 years and her resume includes countless murals for commercial businesses in Northern Virginia. Some of her favorites include murals for “The Backyard Grill Restaurant” in Chantilly, "Coyote Grill Restaurant” in Centreville, “The Lost Dog Café” in Arlington and even a Buddhist temple in Washington DC! Her favorite style murals are any kid’s room, Tuscany, nature and landscapes. This is one busy lady! I tell you she can paint anything!
So here’s how you can benefit. Are you bored? Are you tired of watching reruns on television? Trying to figure out what you can do in the winter months now that your friends are done throwing fabulous parties? Check out her studio and snazz up your home or business with faux finishing. Take a fun series “sip & paint” private class with Fran! Just do me a favor….don’t laugh at my artwork if I happen to see you in a class, okay?
