Virginia International University’s School of Education is excited to announce the February event in our Voices from the Field Speaker Series: a panel presentation on Promoting Communication Skills and Workforce Readiness through Co-Teaching.

Three distinguished panelists will be speaking about their implementation of the Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) model at Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School in Washington, DC:

By pairing content and language/literacy instructors as co-teachers in a single classroom, I-BEST helps students acquire crucial communication and career skills in the context of real-world situations, providing linguistic and job training simultaneously.

- Co-teachers’ experiences in designing their roles and working together productively
This event is open to all VIU students, staff, and faculty, as well as members of the surrounding community.
