Families Attend Toys for Tots Movie Event

Celebrating the spirit of Christmas at the Centreville multiplex.

The Ed Lang / Remax “Toys For Tots” Movie Event was on Saturday, Dec. 3.  Families of all ages came. The movie was free, but you were encouraged to bring a toy to be donated to Toys for Tots

During the event, people made Caring Kids Cards, visited Santa, heard the Rocky Run Middle School Chorus and Band, and watched the Muppet Movie at the . Everyone that attended could also make Christmas Stockings, enjoy coffee and donuts, and enter many raffles from local sponsors.

The Ed Lang team at Re/Max Priemier has been hosting this event for the past 20 years. Ed Lang wanted people to know, "it is more important to give than receive and that is the real spirit of Christmas."

Ed Lang's entire family was there. Michael, Ed Lang's son, said "my favorite part is the movie." Sophie, age 7, from Fairfax said the same thing.

Before the movie you could make and sign Caring Kids Cards. The cards that were made at the event will be going to America's Adopt a Soldier and Operation Military Kids

The Marines were there collecting toys. You could say hi and have your picture taken with them.

Santa was taking pictures with the kids. Everyone enjoyed seeing Santa.

Caroline, age 12, from Gainesville, is a Girl Scout who volunteered at the event, said "I liked helping kids with the stockings. It was fun. I am excited."

The movie that was shown was The Muppets. Most people stayed to watch. The muppets said, "the world's third greatest gift is laughter." The event put a smile on everyones face.

Thank you to everyone that made Caring Kids Cards and donated a toy to Toys for Tots. For the second year, thanks to a partnership with Caring Kids Cards and generationOn, Hasbro is also donating a toy for every person that attended the event. This doubles the amount of toys donated. That is a LOT of toys!

We hope to see everyone again next year.
