National Parks Day - Free Fun For All Famillies

Free opportunity to see the national parks this weekend.

November 11 - 13 is Free National Parks Day. There is free admission for some parks that normally charge admission. National Parks are fun for the whole family.

At most National Parks there is a Junior Ranger Program. Kids get to fill out an activity book while going through the park and have finished the packet, they receive a badge or a patch. Kids get to take an oath, "I (Your Name) promise to protect and preserve all National Parks and ..."

Adults can help their children and also learn about the National Parks.

Aiden, age 6, from Centreville, co-founder of Caring Kids Cards, has been to many National Parks. He said, "When you go to National Parks you get badges when you complete the activity booklet. The National Parks help you learn. My favorite park was Fort McHenry in Maryland." 

Even if you are on vacation or just looking for something to do, you can go to a National Park.

If you cannot make it to a National Park, you can look at the Webranger Program online to learn from home.  

You can see a list of parks participating in this free admission day event on the National Park Service Website. Not all parks participate in this event. To make sure that the park you want to go to has free admission on these days, visit the website or call them before you go.

There are National Parks all over the country. Go explore one today.
