Patch Bloggers Offer Tips for New Year's Eve Celebrations

Patch bloggers offer ideas for ringing in the New Year. You can reach the community with a Patch blog, too!

Jane Lemmons, editor

If you're looking for the best champagne for toasting the new year, Patch blogger Colleen Walsh Fong has some tips.

Everyday, Patch bloggers reach out to community members. A Patch blog is a great way to share opinions, post photos, and get the word out about your organization or business. Start one now, here.

While champagne is used to toast everything from weddings to births to new ventures, Fong writes in her latest post on Colleen Walsh Fong's Blog, "champagne is probably most associated with ringing in the new year, and New Year's Eve is coincidentally National Champagne Day."

For those not yet 21, another Patch blogger — Jade Davis, a sophomore at McLean High School — has some advice on ringing in the new year without alcohol in the Patch on Prevention Blog.

"Holidays should be fun, so be careful if you are at parties and there is alcohol," Davis writes. "Do not be the victim of 'harmless fun,' resulting in arrests, car crashes, and other legal troubles. There are so many fun, festive activities to do that do not involve compromising your health or your character with substances."

To start your own blog on Patch, go here or if you like the long way, go to the Home page, scroll to the bottom, click on the green “start your own blog” link, and get going!
