1 Dead After Centreville Road Crash

A 16-year-old Centreville girl was involved in the crash but wasn't injured.

A Warrenton man died Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash on Route 28 in Centreville, Fairfax County Police reports show. 

Police said a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Ronald Matthew Kendrick,20, of Warrenton, was traveling north on Centreville Road (Route 28) when he disregarded a red light and struck a 1996 Ford station wagon traveling west on Old Centreville Road. 

Investigators said the impact caused the Chevrolet to rotate and flip, ejecting Kendrick from the vehicle and onto the roadway.  He was transported by the Fairfax County Police Medevac Helicopter, to Inova Fairfax Hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later. Police believe he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Ford, a 16-year-old Centreville girl, and a 16-year-old girl riding in the truck suffered minor injuries.  

Fairfax Police are trying to determine if speed or alcohol were factors in this crash.
