Animal Control Report: Owner of Stray Shih Tzu Cited

A mix shepherd was also quarantined after biting a man.

Unlicensed dog: An Animal Control Officer on March 23 picked up a stray dog corralled by a resident on the 9500 block of Unity Lane.

The officer took the dog to the shelter around 7:50 p.m. When the 28-year-old owner came to claim the Shih Tzu, the Centreville resident was charged with no dog license and no current rabies vaccination.

Animal bite: A 44-year-old man reported to Fairfax County animal control that he passed a man and two dogs on leashes while he was walking home on the 12500 block of Sweet Leaf Terrace March 23 at 7 p.m. One of the dogs, a shepherd mix, bit the victim. Officers quarantined the dog as a routine measure.
