Centreville Man Dies from Stab Wounds, Police Say

Deceased man identified as Domingo Eduardo Santiago Cuchil

A 20-year-old Centreville-area man died Sunday after suffering a stab wound on Saturday, May 17, Fairfax County police said Monday in a news release.

Police responded to a report of an assault with a weapon in the 14400 block of Golden Oak Road at around 11 p.m. Saturday, May 17. They found a wounded man lying on the sidewalk. After calling for Fire and Rescue personnel, officers were notified about another possible wounded man nearby; at a home in the 14400 block of Cool Oak Lane.

The investigation determined that the men knew each other and were neighborhood acquaintances. Detectives believe that there was an altercation involving unknown assailant(s), but are still gathering further details regarding the motive or reason for the altercation.

The deceased man was identified as Domingo Eduardo Santiago Cuchil, no fixed address, in the Centreville area. He was pronounced dead on Sunday, May 18 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. The other man was identified as a 31-year-old Centreville man. He suffered non life-threatening injuries and was treated and released from a local hospital.
