After heavy downpours last night that caused flooding, six people were rescued from flood waters in Chantilly.
Fairfax County first responders rescued six people from flood waters in Chantilly Thursday night and Friday morning in two separate incidents, according to spokesman Dan Schmidt, with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.
"They were stranded, they got on top of their cars, the water was coming up very quickly," Schmidt said. "We used boats to rescue them."
The first water rescue was made Thursday night at 11:30 p.m. at Walney Road and Flat Lick Branch, where three people were rescued from a vehicle in flood waters, Schmidt said.
The second water rescue in Chantilly took place Friday morning at about 1:40 a.m., at Franklin Farm Road and Stone Heather Drive, where three people were rescued from a vehicle surrounded by high water, Schmidt said.
Fairfax County continues to be under a Flood Warning from the National Weather Service until 11:45 a.m. Friday.
