Firefighters Think Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness

Local firefighters wore pink shirts to raise awareness.

Firefighters from Centreville and Clifton wore pink shirts last week to raise awareness about breast cancer. 

Firefighters in Fairfax County to wear the shirts every year, both during emergency and non-emergency calls during breast cancer awareness month. Donations from local employee groups, Fairfax County Local 2068, Fairfax County Progressive Firefighters, Inc., UnitedHealthcare, and others funded the purchase of the t-shirts.

Many throughout the community have also been doing their part. Students on athletic teams at  and high schools have worn pink t-shirts during games, and to the Komen Foundation.
