Former School Board Candidate Espy Glassman Facing Criminal Charges in D.C.

Endorsee, accused of assault in January incident. stepped down last week for "personal reasons."

," is also facing criminal charges.

Glassman has been charged with assault and possession of a prohibited weapon in the District of Columbia after a Jan. 24 incident, court records say.

 The Washington Post reports D.C. Superior Court records say Glassman was driving out of an alley at 3:44 p.m. in the 100 block of 1st St. NE near the Supreme Court building where a crowd was taking part in the March for Life.

A woman stepped in front of Glassman’s car, yelling at her to stop because of all the people around, the court papers say. Glassman allegedly laughed, revved her engine and moved forward.

The record says when the woman stepped back, Glassman allegedly kept laughing, moved forward again and hit the woman in the legs. The woman suffered minor injuries.

Glassman, of Falls Church, said she was just trying to back up.
