Four People Displaced After Townhouse Fire

The fire caused about $25,000 worth of damage to the townhouse, according to the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department.

A townhouse fire displaced four people Wednesday morning and caused $25,000 worth of damages, according to Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department.

Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the front basement windows when they responded to the fire in the two-story, middle unit townhouse on Wildflower Lane around 6:30 a.m. Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire from the inside, quickly bringing it under control.

They were able to keep the fire in check, and did not allow the fire to spread to adjacent units. The basement had extensive damage and the upper floor also had some damage from the smoke. A smoke alarm provided early warning to the occupants, and the two adults and two children escaped unharmed. All were displaced, but the occupants declined support from the Red Cross. No one was injured.
