Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting 3-Month-Old Arrested by U.S Marshals

The suspect, Jason Rouse, was located on Tuesday.

A 21-year-old suspect wanted by Fairfax County Police on charges of sexual battery and forcible sodomy involving an infant was arrested by U.S. Marshals in New York this week. 

Police had been looking for Jason Rouse since Oct. 31 and allege he assaulted a 3-month-old baby in Fairfax County near Falls Church, on June. 3, according to a press release issued Thursday by the U.S. Marshals Service. 

Police said the suspect and the victim knew each other, but declined to say how, Fairfax County Police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said Thursday afternoon.

On Nov. 4, Fairfax County Police reached out to the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force whose members found evidence the suspect was living with family members on 213th St. in Queens Village. 

At 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, counterparts of the task force working in New York located a man matching the description of the suspect as he was leaving the residence wearing a jacket and a face mask that only showed his eyes.

Officers stopped the person and where able to identify him as Rouse, according to the release. 

He is now awaiting extradition to Virginia where he faces charges of sexual battery of a minor, object sexual penetration of a minor and forcible sodomy.
