Police Arrest One for DWI at Sobriety Checkpoint

Hundreds of motorists pass through checkpoint.

Police officers from around Fairfax County made one DWI arrest at a sobriety checkpoint held in the Sully District on May 27, from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. 

Approximately 688 motorists passed through the checkpoint in the northbound lanes of Route 29 near the intersection of Bull Run Post Office Road. Police made one arrest for DWI and issued eight summonses for miscellaneous traffic offenses. Two people were charged with minor criminal offenses.

Ten auxiliary officers and eight police officers participated in this operation.
