Police: Centreville Man Pulls Guns at Hotel Over Rates

Incident occurred at Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City.

A drunk 29-year-old man pulled two semi-automatic pistols on a hotel security guard early Wednesday because he was upset about the hotel rates, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

Andrew Dziuk, of Centreville, has been charged with brandishing a firearm, reckless handling of a firearm and being drunk in public.

About 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dziuk entered the Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City and inquired about room rates, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said. The hotel is located at 1250 S. Hayes St., Arlington.

Hotel staff noticed two handguns tucked in his waistband. Dziuk was "irate" over how high the rates were, Sternbeck said.

The man asked if he could be served alcohol and was denied. Security followed him out, at which point he pulled both guns on the guard, Sternbeck said.

The guard ran inside and called police, who were able to apprehend Dziuk without incident, Sternbeck said.

The standard rate for a single guest to stay one night at the hotel is $599, according to the hotel's website.
