Police Taser Driver After Alleged Assault on Officer, Resisting Arrest

A police officer performed a traffic stop in Centreville on a speeding vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated.

Fairfax County Police officers tasered a driver this weekend after the driver allegedly assaulted arresting officers and resisted arrest, according to the county police report issued Monday.

The incident took place in the 5900 block of Fort Drive, Saturday at 12:48 a.m. A police officer performed a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated. 

The driver resisted arrest and assaulted the arresting officers, who then employed the conductive electrical device to gain compliance.

Lindsay Halsey, 21, of Chantilly was charged with assault on police, DWI and possessing an open container of alcohol.
