Robbery, Assault Reported on Woodmere Drive

Police responded to a report of a man who was robbed and assaulted Wednesday evening.

Police responded to a call about a man who was reportedly robbed and assaulted around 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 1500 block of Woodmere Drive, according to the Publice Information Office of the Fairfax County Police Department.

The victim reported that two men produced an unknown object, demanded the victim's belongings, assaulted him and fled the scene, taking a few of his belongings with them. The suspects were described as black, wearing masks and dark glasses.

The FCPD helicopter and a K-9 team responded to the incident.

Residents have reported that they witnessed two helicopters in the area during this time. The Public Information Office said another unit may have been in the area to respond to another report. This mission was being filmed to use in future training and other purposes.
