Traffic Delayed on Route 28 as Firefighters Put Out Blaze

Truck catches on fire but no one hurt.

Firefighters battled to put out a blaze in nearly 100 degree weather Tuesday after a truck caught fire on Route 28 North in the middle of rush hour traffic.Β 

The truck caught on fire around 6:20 p.m. on 28 North near the Manorgate community, holding up hundreds of Centreville-area commuters on their way home for the evening. No one was hurt in the fire, said a firefighter at the scene from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, adding that he didn't have any further details available.Β
