FCPD Traffic Officer Honored for Drug Busts

Officer Jared Warner found drugs and guns during two routine, separate traffic stops.

The Sully District Citizens Advisory Committee recently honored Officer Jared Warner, nominating him as Officer of the Month for making two drug arrests recently, during the course of routine traffic stops.

During the first stop, Warner had pulled a car over for running a red light, said Lt. Richard Morvillo, assistant commander of the Sully District Station. After Warner approached the vehicle, he smelled alcohol and marijuana coming from the driver, and saw an assault rifle in the backseat.

Warner then discovered there was additional marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a handgun and ammunition in the car. Warner arrested the suspect and transported him to the county jail.

During the second stop, Warner pulled over a vehicle without a valid state inspection. He again smelled marijuana, searched the vehicle and driver, and discovered marijuana and a handgun that was reportedly stolen. The incident is still under investigation.
