Allen Outraises Kaine in Centreville

In last filing period, Centreville gives $6,600 to Allen and $5,000 to Kaine.

Centreville residents gave more campaign donations to George Allen than to Tim Kaine in the latest filing period. The two former governors of Virginia are locked in a dead heat in one of the most-watched U.S. Senate races in the country.

During the most recent filing period, which ran from May 24 to June 30, Kaine raised $667,000 in donations of $200 or more from Virginians, according to the Virginia Public Access Project, which compiles its data from the Center for Responsive Politics. Allen raised $409,000, according to the data.

In Centreville, Allen outraised Kaine during the filing period, bringing in $6,600 compared to Kaine’s $5,000. Residents in the 20120 ZIP code donated $6,200 to Allen, and residents in the 20121 ZIP code donated $400. Kaine raised $4,750 from residents in the 20120 ZIP code and $250 from 20121.

In overall fundraising, Kaine is hanging onto a narrow lead with $3.6 million compared to Allen’s $3.5 million in Virginia, in donations of $200 or more from Virginians.
