Ken Cuccinelli Will Run for Governor, Reports Say
Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli will announce his plans soon, media outlets are reporting.
Ken Cuccinelli, Virginia's Attorney General, will run for governor in 2013, The Washington Post reports.
Cuccinelli will run after Gov. Bob McDonnell's term expires, the Post says, citing "well-placed Republican sources." The Associated Press also confirmed Cuccinelli's intentions with a Republican official. He may announce his candidacy within the next few days, the Post reports.
On the national level, Cuccinelli is perhaps most well-known for challenging the new federal health-care law, which he has appealed to the Supreme Court. But longtime Centreville residents will likely also remember that Cuccinelli used to live in Centreville. Though Cuccinelli and his wife Terri have since moved to Prince William County, they are still active parishioners at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, according to his website.
