Candidates to Meet With Korean-American Community

Thirty candidates for public office meet with constituents in Fairfax tonight.

Thirty candidates for a range of public offices will gather at Luther Jackson Middle School in Fairfax to meet with voters in the Korean-American community on Thursday night.

The candidates' night, hosted by the Korean American Association of Virginia and the Korea Times, is the first of its kind in Northern Virginia, with over 30 organizations cosponsoring the event and 30 candidates who have confirmed their attendance. It also reflects the region's changing demographics: about 18 percent of Fairfax County is of Asian descent, and over 41,000 people are Korean, according to the 2010 Census.
