Expect Delays on Fairfax County and Fair Lakes Parkways

Delays are expected for the next two weeks.

Overnight through May 18, motorists can expect delays and detours on the Fairfax County Parkway and Fair Lakes Parkway.

Crews will be installing beams for bridges that will carry traffic over the Fair Lakes Parkway and Monument drive, according to Virginia Department of Transportation officials. Detours will begin at 9 p.m. and continue through 5 a.m. each night.

Motorists driving along the Fairfax County Parkway from Monument Drive will make a detour to West Ox Road from Monday through Friday this week.

From May 14 to the 18, motorists will not be able to make turns from the Fair Lakes Parkway onto the Fairfax County Parkway. Traffic will be detoured onto Fair Lakes Circle.

The entire $69.5 million project is scheduled for completion in 2013. Visit the Virginia Department of Transportation page for more information.
