FCPS Needs Help Planning Facilities

Deadline to apply is Monday, June 25th.

The Fairfax County School Board has extended the deadline for applications to fill three vacancies on the Facilities Planning Advisory Council (FPAC) to Monday, June 25th.

The School Board seeks applicants for a representative for the Sully District, a representative for the Springfield District, and for an at-large position.

  • Anyone interested in the Sully position must be a resident of the same magisterial district.
  • Anyone interested in the at-large position must be a resident of Fairfax County.
  • Anyone interested in the Springfield position must be a resident of the same magisterial district.

The School Board established FPAC in 2010 to advise the Board and staff to develop comprehensive, long-term plans for Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) facility needs. Among the issues council members will consider are school program capacity, transportation and operating efficiencies, financing and construction strategies, school renovations and closures, and planning for new buildings and boundaries.
