Former Centre Ridge Teacher Struggles to Regain Reputation

Sean Lanigan's life has been in disarray since he was falsely accused of molesting a student

Sean Lanigan says that he is still suffering from the false accusation of sexually molesting a student that cost him his job atlast year. 

Lanigan was cleared of all charges, but in the process raked up over $120,000 in legal fees, was transferred to another school, and will likely be transferred again, he told The Washington Post in an article published Sunday. His wife was also forced to leave her job as a consequence of the transfer. 

Lanigan also says that Fairfax County Public Schools has refused to pay his legal fees. The Post notes that state law allows for reimbursement since he was falsely accused.

Lanigan, now on staff at , will be transferred again next year. FCPS has also forced him individually to abide by special "guidelines and expectations," the Post says, including not touching students as a form of greeting.
