Students Open Free Prom Dress Shop

The shop helps cash-strapped students go to prom.

Marketing students in the Fair Oaks Classroom on the Mall opened their annual Fair Oaks Prom Dress Shop on Friday, April 29.  This is the seasonal dress shop’s fifth year helping hundreds of financially needy students attend prom in style each spring.

Most dresses have only been worn once, if at all. Some still have tags on them. The dresses, which come in a wide range of sizes, are all free.

Fair Oaks Classroom on the Mall students have worked hard getting ready for the store to open its doors.  Under the direction of their teacher, Miranda Schick, students have secured an empty store at the mall, acquired dress racks donated by Macy’s, then sorted and displayed the dresses.
