On March 15, before a large and loud home opener crowd, the varsity Wildcats defeated the West Potomac High School Wolverines, 11 to 10, in their second game of the season.

Leading the Wildcats in scoring were senior midfielder Andy Balberde with five goals, and senior attack David Weisbrodt with two goals. Also scoring one goal apiece were junior Danny Meador and Seniors Nathan Marks, Nick Ziegler and Tyler Vennergrund.

Assists during the game were delivered by Danny Meador, Nathan Marks and Andy Balberde. The West Potomac offense posed a threat throughout the hard fought game, but the Wildcat defense held strong. Despite being plagued with penalties during the contest, the Centreville mandown defense, comprised of Ben Kandel, Kainoa O’Connor, Logan Wakefield, Jake Hyde and Antonio Choi, proved to be too tough for the Wolverines.
