Centreville Track Defeats Robinson, Oakton

Chase Heiner also won the 800 meter run at the Lake Braddock Hall of Fame Classic.

The Centreville girls defeated district rivals Robinson and Oakton in the tri-meet on April 17 with first place finishes by seniors Rebecca Vinter in the 800 meter run and Isabella Medina in the 3200 meter run. 

Freshman Sami Belso scored a double victory winning both the 100 meter dash and the high jump. On the boy’s side, Centreville finished in second behind Robinson, but balanced that with quite a few first-place finishes. Seniors Mike Wright and Chan Young Lee achieved victories in the 100 meter dash and the 1600 meter run respectively. The Bishop twins won the 110 meter high hurdles, Kevin, and the 200 meter dash, Michael. Alex Jung won the 800 meter run and last but not least, A.J. Turner won both the long and triple jumps.  The boys’ team also won the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.

At the prestigious Lake Braddock Hall of Fame Classic the following weekend, Chase Heiner won the 800 meter run over a tough field. Mike Wright completed an impressive 100 meter, 400 meter double with a seventh place finish in each event. Rebecca Vinter scored for the girls’ team with an eighth-place finish in the 800 meters.
