A look back at games throughout the school year.

Over the course of the school year, Centreville Patch photographers have snapped literally thousands of photos from  and High School games. As the school year comes to a close, now seems like a great time to highlight some of their best work.

I chose these photos primarily based on aesthetic appeal, composition, difficulty of the shot and in some cases, the emotion conveyed. I also wanted to include photos from a range of sports and crucial season games. Some of the photos above include captions with my thoughts about the picture; others simply describe what was happening at the time. They are not placed in any particular order.

Michael Noone captured a tense moment among football fans in this photo and an interception by the Wildcats in . Noone also snapped the photos in  and .

Chris Nebrich took a colorful picture of a sunset game between cross-town rivals in .

Max Steinmetz photographed Centreville's Ryan Sepulveda pinning an opponent to the floor in .

Celeste Linthicum grabbed a photo of two soccer players suspended in midair in . She also snapped the photos in ,  and .

Which picture is your favorite? Would you have included others? Tell us in the comments.
