Wildcats Fall in Concorde Semi-Finals

The Wildcats will move on to the first round of the northern region tournament next week.

Girls basketball: The Centreville Lady Wildcats went toe-to-toe with the region's number one team, the Oakton Cougars, Wednesday night in the semi-finals of the Concorde District basketball tournament before falling 48-37. 

CVHS narrowed the lead to five points on two occasions in the fourth quarter but could not overcome the undefeated Cougars. Senior Chaney Forbush led Centreville in scoring 13 points and freshman Caroline Wakefield with 10.

The 12-11 Wildcats move on to the first round of the northern region tournament next week.

Boys basketball: The Robinson Rams defeated the Wildcats 65-39 on Thursday night, despite a strong performance by Evan Fuller, who led the team with 19 points. The Cats will play next at Washington-Lee or Edison on Monday in first round of regionals.
