Turkey Trot, Football Playoffs, a "Dive-in" Movie, Toy Drive and What's Open on Thanksgiving?

Virginia Railway Express Santa Train Tickets go on sale on Monday, Nov. 25 at 9 a.m. The Santa Trains leave the station on Dec. 14. 

Fairfax County Firefighters will distribute Christmas Tree safety tags to holiday tree lot vendors this week. The vendors, in turn, will send the small, green-and-white tags home with every tree while supplies last. 

Fair Oaks Mall will open at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Day for shopping. 

The Virginia Run 5K Turkey Trot begins at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day

Centreville High will host Stonewall Jackson High School on Friday in the third round of 2013 football playoffs.  Stonewall Jackson is 8-4 on the season while Centreville is undefeated. 

Finish digesting your turkey dinner while floating on a tube in the Manassas Park Community Center indoor pool on Friday during the second annual Dive-In Movie. The event is from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and admission is free with the donation of a toy.  Children under 5 must stay within arm's reach of an adult during the entire movie.
