Teen Archaeology Camp, Civil War Lecture, Home Child Care Facility Request and More

1. Twens and Teens Dig Up Artifacts: The Fairfax County Park Authority is offering two sessions of a new archaeology camp for young adults ages 12 to 18 at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. Campers will work alongside archaeologists during a small excavation of a 1700s and 1800s era family farm site. The first week begins Monday.

2. Civil War Lecture: "Battle of Chickamauga, Tennessee, September 1863" by author and NPS Ranger, Angela Atkinson. Cosponsored by the Bull Run Civil War Round Table. For adults plus school age & up. 7 p.m. Thursday. Centreville Library, 14200 St Germain Dr.

3. Summer Grads: Fairfax County Public Schools will hold an Adult High School Completion Graduation at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Woodson High School auditorium. The regular Summer Graduation will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Lake Braddock Secondary School Gymnasium.

4. Discovery Day: Two Minniville centers in Centreville will be hosting events at 11 a.m. Saturday, including children's activities, refreshments, games, prizes and facility tours.  

5. Home Child Care Facility in Front of BZA: The Fairfax County Board of Zoning Appeals agenda includes a Centreville homeowner requesting approval for a home child care facility.See all of the agendas for this week's county meetings.
